  • Since the start of the 2016 season, the Nationals have won 18 of 22 games over the Braves and have outscored their National League East foe by a 129–87 margin.

ALL ABOUT THAT BASE

  • In his last 17 games, Werth is hitting .355 (22-for-62) with a .481 on-base percentage and a .548 slugging percentage.
  • Because of his recent surge, Werth now ranks 10th in the National League and 13th in all of Major League Baseball in on-base percentage (.409).

STEPPING UP

Since taking over for an injured CF Adam Eaton on April 29, CF Michael A. Taylor is hitting .328 (20-for-61) with four doubles, two triples, two homers, eight RBI, four walks, two stolen bases and nine runs scored…He has posted a .369 on-base percentage and a .557 slugging percentage during that stretch.

  • His eighth inning two-run home run on Sunday night against the Phillies propelled Washington to the 6–5 win over Philadelphia…The towering blast off RHP Pat Neshek — Taylor’s second of the season — hit off the left field foul pole.
