Dear Nationals Fans,

On behalf of my family and the entire Washington Nationals organization, I want to thank you for another season of support. The enthusiasm around our franchise is building, and we’re so thrilled to be able to share this feeling of hope and excitement with you, our 27th man.

While we are not satisfied with how we finished the season in terms of wins and losses, we are pleased by the progress that this young club continues to make, and we’ve seen a lot of things that have us feeling incredibly hopeful about the future of our ball club.

Fifteen rookies played for our team this season, including top prospects James Wood and Dylan Crews. Rookie pitchers DJ Herz and Mitchell Parker made the most of their opportunities this year, becoming integral parts of our starting rotation. We certainly like what we’ve seen from this group of young players so far, and expectations are higher for next season now that they have big-league experience under their belts. Plus, with one of the top-ranked farm systems in baseball, we have even more talent in our pipeline that we expect will be playing in Nationals Park very soon.

This season, we saw the continued development of several players that will be the core of this franchise moving forward. CJ Abrams earned his first All-Star selection. Jacob Young had a Gold Glove-caliber year. MacKenzie Gore and Jake Irvin both took strides on the field and in the clubhouse as emerging leaders. Luis García Jr. had a breakout season and was our team’s Hitter of the Year. And our closer Kyle Finnegan ranked third in the league in saves and earned a well-deserved trip to the All-Star Game.

I also want to take a moment to express my gratitude to some of our veterans like Patrick Corbin and Trevor Williams. We don’t win the 2019 World Series without Patrick, and he and Trevor were undoubtedly two of our clubhouse leaders over the last couple seasons.

Although we are not yet where we want to be, record-wise, the level of talent we have throughout our Major and Minor Leagues gives us a lot to feel excited about.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you again for your support of Washington Nationals baseball. We feel confident that it won’t be long before we’re playing baseball in October once again. Until then, we look forward to seeing you soon and to celebrating the 20th anniversary of Washington Nationals baseball throughout the 2025 season.

Best wishes,

Mark D. Lerner

Spend money or sell the team!

You may want to read your customer satisfaction surveys. You obviously don't care about your fans in the upper deck because you don't take care of your concession stands to avoid running out of supplies. I have to agree with the other comments if you can't afford to take care of your fans. Sell the team.
