From the Desk of Mark D. Lerner: Returning Home for NLDS Game 5
The team is headed back home for Game 5 of the NLDS! We are looking forward to having the support of lots of our hometown fans as we look to advance to the NLCS for the first time in Nationals history.
We are hoping to feel that same, incredible energy that fans brought to Nationals Park for Games 1 and 2. Both players and coaches noticed the tangible enthusiasm, as Dusty said, “I love the sea of red.” Last night, when Max was asked about returning to Washington, D.C. to pitch for Game 5, he said, “if it’s anything like Game 1, it’s going to be such a thrill. Game 1 was unbelievable in D.C. The fans were just going nuts from the first pitch. Our fans really brought it in Game 1, so I can only imagine the atmosphere going into Game 5.”
We cannot wait for fans to bring that same support back to Nationals Park tomorrow for Max and the Nats.
Once again, fans should plan ahead, and get to the park early. All gates will open at 5:30 p.m. As we did before Games 1 & 2, the Nationals will be providing ALL guests with a special, celebratory 20 percent discount on ALL FOOD in the ballpark for the first hour gates are open. Fans will also receive a 20 percent discount on Nationals merchandise at the stand behind Section 102 during that time.
For fans planning to drive and park around the Capitol Riverfront neighborhood, fans should know where they are going to park before coming. Fans can find more information regarding transportation options to and from Nationals Park at Nationals.com/WAYTOGO.
Wear your Nationals red, bring even more passion, and let’s get a Curly W! We know it is going to be an exciting game, and we look forward to seeing you at Nationals Park for first pitch at 8:08 p.m.
