LEADING MAN

2B Daniel Murphy clubbed his 22nd home run of the season on Saturday, a two-run shot in the first inning…Over his last three games, Murphy is 4-for-10 (.400) with three of the four hits going for extra bases (2 2B, HR).

  • Murphy leads the National League in batting average (.348), slugging percentage (.616), OPS (1.003), doubles (T1st, 34), hits (1st, 143), multi-hit games (45), go-ahead RBI (27), and game-winning RBI (T1st, 16).
  • Murphy also ranks among NL hitters in extra base hits (2nd, 61), and RBI (2nd, 86).

TRIPLE SHOT OF TREA

INF/OF Trea Turner led off Saturday night’s win with his fifth triple of the season…Turner added his third home run of the season in the third inning and singled in the fifth inning to record his second three-hit game in as many nights…In his last three games, Turner is 7-for-14 (.500) with one double, one triple, one home runs, two RBI, two stolen bases and five runs scored.

  • According to the Elias Sports Bureau, the last rookie to hit a leadoff triple and then homer in his next plate appearance was PIT Al Martin, against the Rockies on June 9, 1993.
  • Turner is hitting .338 (25-for-74) with four doubles, three triples, three homers, 11 RBI, three walks, seven stolen bases and 15 runs scored in his last 17 games since July 24.
  • Since the All-Star break, Turner leads MLB lead in triples (5) and ranks tied for fourth in stolen bases (10).
  • Among players with at least 10 stolen bases this season, Turner is one of only four players to have not been caught stealing more than once.

SUMMER SIZZLERS

Since July 16, 3B Anthony Rendon is hitting .321 (26-for-81) with nine doubles, five homers, 17 RBI, nine walks, three stolen bases and 12 runs scored…He has struck out just 11 times in 92 plate appearances over this stretch.

  • CF Ben Revere has recorded multi-hit efforts in three of his last four games, going 6-for-15 (.400) with one double, two triples, one RBI, one walk and four runs scored…On Saturday vs. Atlanta, Revere recorded his first ever multi-triple game with two.
