The Nationals continue their nine-game road trip with a three-game set with the Arizona Diamondbacks starting Monday night…Following Wednesday’s day game, WSH will travel back to D.C. and enjoy an off day on Thursday before opening an eight-game homestand on Friday.

  • Despite dropping the final two games of the weekend series at SFG, the Nationals (61-44, .581) are tied with the Giants (61-44, .581) for the second-best record in the National League, behind the Chicago Cubs (63-41, .606).
  • Washington ranks second in Major League Baseball with a +112 run differential, behind only the Chicago Cubs (+164).

With a single in the eighth inning on Saturday, Nationals LF Jayson Werth extended his on-base streak to a career-high 33 games…It is the second-longest active streak in the Major Leagues (BOS 2B Dustin Pedroia, 34 G, 6/21-pres) and is the fourth-longest on-base streak in MLB this season…MIA OF Marcell Ozuna owns the longest streak in MLB this season (36 games, 4/21-5/29).

  • During this stretch, Werth has collected 28 hits (11 2B, 2 HR), 26 walks and has posted a .383 on-base percentage along the way.

Since July 16, 3B Anthony Rendon is hitting .326 (15-for-46) with three doubles, four home
runs, nine RBI, four walks, three stolen bases and six runs scored…He has hit safely in nine
of the 12 games, including five multi-hit efforts.

  • In the recently-completed four-game series at SFG, rendon drove in at least one run in three consecutive games, July 29-31.
