The Nationals kicked off this weekend set with the Philadelphia Phillies with a 9-6 win last night…Trailing 4-2 in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Nationals clubbed back-to-back home runs thanks to solo homers from C Wilson Ramos and 3B Stephen Drew.

  • According to Stats, LLC., the eight back-to-backs are tied (w/2013 Nationals) for second most in team history (2005-pres.) behind the 2012 Nationals (9) and are second-most in Major League Baseball behind the Baltimore Orioles (10).
  • SS Danny Espinosa added his 10th home run of the season, a solo shot in the sixth inning… He has now homered in seven of his last 14 games and his seven home runs are tied for third in MLB over that stretch.

RHP Stephen Strasburg improved to 10-0 and extended his winning streak to 13 games (dating to Sept. 15, 2015) last night…The 13-game winning streak matched RHP Stan Coveleski (5/9/1925 – 7/26/1925) and RHP Walter Johnson (7/15/1924 – 9/22/1924) for the third-longest winning streak by a starting pitcher in D.C.-baseball history…The 13-game streak is the longest in franchise (Nationals/Expos) history.

  • According to ESPN Stats and Information, Strasburg is the first National League starter to begin a season 10-0 since SDP’s RHP Andy Hawkins went 11-0 in 1985.
