Of note:

  • The Nationals have made just three errors in their last 26 games, dating to June 7, and yielded just  two unearned runs in June to set a new club mark for the fewest unearned runs allowed in a calendar month. As the season has progressed, the Nationals’ fielding percentage has risen, while their error totals and unearned runs allowed have declined:
Month                                 Fielding %           Errors          Unearned Runs
    Mar./Apr. (28 games)       .975                       26                             19
    May (26 games)                .980                    20                             13
    Since June (31 games)  .993                      8                                2

Congrats Nats on doing so well today- yesterday was a rough one. I grew up in Northern Illinois and have a family full of Cubs fans, but I’ve lived in the DC area for over 40 years and am a true Nats fan! I’ll be at the game tomorrow — Best of luck on playing as well as today — I love having the bragging rights!
