Washington Nationals right-hander Doug Fister has won back-to-back-to-back starts, besting Francisco Liriano, Johnny Cueto and Nick Tepesch. Fister is looking to become the first National to earn four wins in as many starts since Jordan Zimmermann did exactly that, Sept. 4-20, 2013.

Of note:

The Nationals are batting .315 (68-for-216) with 12 doubles, nine home runs, 19 walks (.371 on-base%) and 39 runs scored in six contests dating to their series finale on May 28 vs. the Marlins. In that six-game stretch, the Nationals have averaged 6.5 runs per contest thanks in largely to a .286 mark and 10 extra-base hits (seven doubles, three home runs) with runners in scoring position.
