Tweet With Us: The #VoteNats Tweet-up Has Arrived

Follow @Nationals on Twitter | Like the Nationals on Facebook

We’re not tweeting at you, we’re tweeting with you.

This is always our philosophy at the Nationals, where we love how engaged our fans are across our social platforms, especially Twitter. You guys run the conversation, we just facilitate it. And, as facilitators, we are always looking for new ways to make that conversation more exciting, more engrossing and more interactive.

As such, we hope you’ll join us on July 3 for the #VoteNats Tweet-up, as we help the Nationals make a final push into the 2013 All-Star Game. If July 3 rings a bell as a familiar date, it should. We held the Ignite Your NATITUDE Tweet-up on the same day last season. With fireworks to follow the game and a National Holiday the next day, it seems as good a time as any to enjoy a beautiful summer evening of baseball with several hundred of your closest Twitter friends and ten of thousands of fellow Nationals fans.

The #VoteNats Tweet-up will include:

– Exclusive access to a Q&A with a Nationals player, broadcasters and front office members

– Event-only giveaways, including a promotional poster, t-shirts and more

– A chance to meet and greet Nationals players on the field before the game

To RSVP, simply tweet “RSVP” and use the hashtag #VoteNats. We’ll send you a DM to confirm that you’re on the list. In the meantime, visit to get your tickets and secure your spot with your fellow tweeps. Space is limited, so don’t wait.

If you’ve already got tickets to the game and still want to take part in the festivities, you can do that as well. Just RSVP like everyone else, and we’ll see you behind section 140 after the gates open.

As we did last year, we’ll use this space as a forum for any questions you might have about the event. Just leave them in the comments and we’ll do our best to answer them.

Hope to see everyone on July 3!

I RSVPed for myself, but I am going to this game with two friends. Do they need to RSVP too?

Hey Zach – yes, please have them RSVP as well so we have them on our check-in list for the event. That way, we can make sure they receive all the giveaways and take part in the activities.

What time do the gates open for a 6:05pm start? Will the events here start at 3:35pm?

Gates will open at 3:30, at which point our check-in will open as well. We will have programming from about 4:30 through close to first pitch, plus in-game activities.

As early as possible. We’ll have special prizes and opportunities for the early arrivals. Gates open at 3:30pm…

How soon after tweeting will we get a DM about whether we got a spot on the list or not?

Hey Rachel,

You should receive a DM within 24 hours of your tweet. Let us know if you don’t.

Can i RSVP for two people or should they do it? And are there still spots left because i just bought tickets

Please have everyone who is attending RSVP on their own so that we have them on the list. That way, they can all register to win prizes at the event. And yes, still spots left!

Ok both of us just RSVP right now. Hopefully get a reply soon. Thanks

Got one, thanks!

Great! See you there…

RSVPed for two! See you then.

I have tried to RSVP several times already in the past few days and haven’t received a DM yet. Let me know what I can do. Thanks.

Are you sure you’re following us? If so, and we still haven’t gotten back to you, leave your handle in a reply here and we’ll make sure you’re taken care of.

We don’t have to sit in the specific seats (sections 138-140) to participate, right? As long as we meet by section 140 once gates open?

Correct! You can still participate if you have tickets elsewhere, just make sure you RSVP so we have you on the list for giveaways/prizes.

Already done! Thank you!

My friend RSVP but never got a message. His name is @VOTEMLB13HARPER

Do we need to bring a copy of our dm? How can we prove that we RSVPed?

If you’ve received a DM from us, then we have your name/handle on a list for check in behind section 140 on the day of the event.

How many people do you expect are going to be participating?

Depends on how many RSVP, but several hundred

I’ve RSVP’d for myself, but my two younger brothers will be with me and as 8 and 4 year olds they don’t have a twitter to RSVP with. How should I handle that?

Thanks for letting us know. Drop that info in a tweet using #VoteNats and we’ll make sure to make a note of it so that all 3 of you will be set!

I’m new to twitter. What’s a “DM”? And why can’t I get my twitter ASG ballot to work?

DM is a direct message – we’ll send you one once we get through all the RSVPs. Not sure what your issue is with your mobile ballot, but try opening in a browser instead of the Twitter app, will probably work better.

How do we meet and greet players? Do we have to pay?

We will be giving away opportunities to go to the Meet & Greet tomorrow. Make sure to be there when gates open at 3:30.

I tried RSVP yesterday but have gotten a DM? Did I miss out?

We’ll make sure you’re taken care of. Thanks for checking!

I will have my nieces with me which r 10 and 8 yrs old ..can i bring them with me ?

Of course! Just make sure you mention something to that effect in a tweet using #VoteNats so that we make sure to hold 3 spots for you.
