Your Guide To NLDS Game 3

The 2012 Postseason lands in Washington D.C. on Wednesday. We’re here to prepare you as best we can for Game 3 of the National League Division Series, with first pitch at 1:07 p.m. local time at Nationals Park.

Remember, while Wednesday is Game 3 of the NLDS, it is Postseason Home Game 1 for those of us here in D.C. Therefore your ticket should look like this:

If you don’t already have tickets to the game, there will be a very limited amount of standing room only tickets available beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, ONLY at the Nationals Park Box Office.

Make sure you wear your Nationals red to the ballpark! While you’re at it, post a photo of you, your business or your school Igniting Your October #NATITUDE and post it to Twitter for a chance to win 2013 Nationals tickets and a Postseason Prize Pack!

All gates will open at 10:30 a.m., 2.5 hours before first pitch. There will be 40,000+ postseason giveaway items for every game of the NLDS. Giveaways will be available at all gates, so feel free to enter through any park entrance.

Face-painting, balloon art, caricatures, and more will be available at the Family Fun Area near the Center Field Gate once gates are open until the start of the game. Plus, live music will take place at the Miller Lite Scoreboard Walk once gates are open until the start of the game.

And, of course, the game itself features Edwin Jackson and the Nationals taking on Chris Carpenter and the St. Louis Cardinals with the best-of-five series tied at a game apiece. More on all that right here.

While you’re at the game, don’t forget to stop behind Section 113, where we’ll have unique memorabilia from the Nationals first-ever postseason games last weekend in St. Louis.

Series Information:

Game 4: Thursday, 4:07 p.m. (moves to 5:07 p.m. if Detroit beats Oakland Tuesday night)

Game 5 (if necessary): Friday, 8:37 p.m.

If you have any other questions that are not answered on this post or on this link, feel free to ask them in the space below and we’ll do our best to answer as quickly as possible.

What is the average length (duration of time) of a Nationals nine inning game?

Postseason games tend to go longer than regular season games, so plan for at least 3.5 hours.

What pregame ceremonies/activities are planned? What time do they begin?

Pregame ceremonies will begin at 12:30… get there early!

Where do I go if I have a standing room only ticket?

There are plenty of places to watch from inside the park, from the Red Loft to the Scoreboard Walk. We encourage you to walk around and find your favorite vantage point.

Is there a spot to drop patrons who cannot walk long distances?

Your best bet is probably at the corners of First & Potomac for the shortest distance into the park.

Can you sit at the Red Porch with a SRO ticket?

Unlikely, as priority for reservations went to season ticket holders, so it may well already be full. Check in when you arrive to make sure.

Will there be parking available in Lot HH tomorrow?

How much are the standing room only tix?

How can I get permission to sit in a disabled seat? I like the sections around 113. I like the old guys who hang there. Standing and climbing steps takes the fun out my good time. I have a metro disabled ID but it has expired. On Oct 15 I will be getting a Metro Access ID, and have other forms of proof of my disabilities. Would it be okay for me to sit with the cool old timers and not suffer so much pain just to go to the ball game? Thanks.

Where are your tickets for tomorrow?

I do not have a ticket yet.

Without a seat (as only standing room is left), I’m not sure what to tell you. Call 202.675.NATS in the morning to discuss with a ticket rep.

Website says parking for Lot W is not available? Is it sold out?

If you are unable to purchase online, then that’s likely the case.

What are the details about buying tickets for hursdays game?

They will go on sale at 9:00 a.m. Thursday.

Well, the game is not on regular cable tomorrow, so that’s out.

Well, the game is not on regular cable TV, so that’s out.

what time would tickets go on sale for standing room on thursday and friday?

9:00 a.m. day of game for each game

r the standing room tix being sold on Stub Hub legit?

We can’t vouch for anything not bought through or our box office.

If the A’s win tonight, but lose on Wednesday ending their series, does Thursday’s game time still change?

Based on what MLB has said, no, time would remain the same.

do you have to purchase parking in advance? and what time do lots open?

take metro

can i literally choose any vantage point I want with my standing room ticket? Or am I limited to the specific sections which were listed on the nationals website? The few options mentioned seemed extremely sparse and I would hate to not be able to see the game🙂

So long as you are following the guidelines on, not blocking any walkways or obstructing a seated fan’s view, you should be able to move around to find a spot.

Hello! Will we have the President’s race and will Teddy win again, …please.

We will have a Presidemts Race. As for Teddy, he is his own man, we’ll just have to wait and see.

I think we should wear dark blue because the Cardinals color is red!!!

I bought what I think is tickets for game three…which is today…my tickets say home game 3. I’m screwed aren’t I?

If they say “Home Game 3” on them, then they are for the “if necessary” Game 5 that would take place Friday night.

I am In Richmond. Is there anyway I can listen to the game while I am at work?

Of course! We’ll be on WXGI 950 AM in Richmond, or you can listen to any game online by downloading the MLB At Bat app.

If I opted to have my tickets mailed to me when I purchased them, but they haven’t arrived yet, how do I get into the park?

Call us ASAP at 202.675.NATS and speak to one of our reps

Thank you!!

Are the SRO tix for Thurs that go on sale at 9 AM available online too, or just at the box office?

Just at the Box Office

What is the giveaway item for game 3, 4 and 5?

You’ll see when you get here!

What TV Channel will the game be on?

Please clarify: Oakland won Tuesday, so Thursday’s game is 5:07 even if they lose tonight?

Is clothing optional at the game??

Game time is still listed as 4 p.m. on and as of Thursday 7:35 a.m. Please clarify again! says it’s start-time for Wash-St.L today is 4:30. Does that mean gametime is 4:37? This is very confusing — and important to those of us with day jobs.

Today’s game is a 4:07 p.m. start

what is the best way in purchasing a standing seat only for game 5

Box Office opens at 9:00 a.m., first come, first served
