Independence Day at Nationals Park

After splitting a four-game series with the Pirates, the Nats head into another four game series with an NL Central opponent. The Cubs roll into town for an Independence Day 1:05 p.m. showdown to start of the series.

*Despite being struck in his wrist during an at-bat yesterday, leading to him being listed as day-to-day after the game, Jayson Werth remains in the lineup in the five-hole. However, potential All-Star Michael Morse is still out of the lineup with an elbow contusion he suffered on Saturday.

*In his previous outing against the Cubbies, Jordan Zimmermann had eight strikeouts and allowed only one walk.
