Nats look to avoid getting swept by the Fish

The Nationals will look to salvage the series today and avoid a sweep by the Marlins. Florida took game two yesterday afternoon in a pitcher’s duel between Livan Hernandez and Anibal Sanchez.

*In 93.1 career innings against the Marlins, Jason Marquis is 5-6 with 53 strikeouts. In his previous start against Florida this season, he received a no-decision after pitching 6.1 innings and allowing just two earned runs.

*Against Javier Vazquez, Adam LaRoche has batted .222 with a double and four RBI. Jerry Hairston Jr. has batted .279 with a .316 on-base percentage, one home run and two RBI.

*While $1 tickets are sold out for tomorrow’s game against Pittsburgh, other dollar deals will be available throughout the ballpark on hot dogs, peanuts, popcorn and select parking. $2 tickets for Tuesday’s game against the Pirates are still available on a limited basis.
