Nats-Giants game 2

John Lannan will look to continue the trend of Nationals starters pitching at least five innings. So far, they’ve managed to do that in each of the 25 games so far this season. The longest such streak occurred in 2009, and that stretched to 28 games.

 *In his only career outing against the Giants, Lannan went seven innings and allowed only one earned run. He struck out two and walked nobody in the no-decision.

 *In eight at-bats against Jonathan Sanchez, Adam LaRoche has hit a double, a home run, and maintained an OPS of 1.556.

 *Ian Desmond looks to continue his offensive success since returning from Paternity Leave. Yesterday he grinded out three hits off of the Giants’ ace Tim Lincecum, as well as stealing a base on the Cy Young Award-winner.
