Did You Know: After a rough first “half” (5.71 ERA), the Nationals bullpen has righted its ship, posting a stingy 2.22 ERA (7 ER/28.1 IP) in 10 games since the All-Star break. Washington’s second “half” bullpen ERA ranks third in the NL behind only the Marlins (1.44) and Braves (1.59). In that span, Randy Knorr’s brigade has combined on two holds, one save in as many opportunities, a .214 (22-for-103) batting average against and a 2.6/1 strikeout-to-walk ratio (23 SO, 9 BB, 2 IBB).
Among the Nationals’ current 12-man pitching staff, only John Lannan and Joe Beimel were members of Washington’s 25-man Opening Day roster.
