All is Well

Right-handed pitcher Kip Wells is
off the DL. The Nats reinstated Wells from the 15-day disabled list and
optioned right-handed pitcher Jason Bergmann to the Triple-A Syracuse Chiefs.

Wells missed the last 12 games
after he was placed on the DL with a right adductor strain on June 2
(retroactive to May 31). In four rehab appearances with the Single-A
Potomac Nationals, he posted a 1.80 ERA (1 ER/5.0 IP). Wells is 0-2 with a 6.26
ERA with the Nationals in 2009. In 19 appearances, he has tallied four holds
and has converted both save opportunities.

Bergmann, 27, went 0-1 with a 6.91
ERA in 14 appearances with the Nationals.
